Oakley Home Access: A Community Resource to Help During the Coronavirus Outbreak
Dear OHA Community,
The last few weeks have been an extremely difficult time for us on a community, national, and global scale. As our local and global governments continue to implement measures to stop the spread of COVID-19, we here at Oakley Home Access are doing the same. Now more than ever it is critical to ensure safe discharge from hospitals, skilled rehab, and long-term care facilities where loved ones can be at risk to contract or succumb to COVID-19. With the current state of emergency in RI and state of emergency in MA, nursing homes and health care facilities are in crisis and are being forced to discharge patients into unsafe homes in an effort to slow the outbreak.
Oakley Home Access was founded to handle crisis management by providing home modifications in an efficient and affordable manner. Our services have and will continue to ensure safe discharge from healthcare facilities into the home for aging in place. Your safety and your loved one’s safety is paramount. All of our staff will be taking extra precautions including a soap in soap out protocol, gloves, mask, and limited physical contact when in patients’ homes. We were proud to represent RI in Washington Last year as 2019 Small businesspersons of the year and want nothing more to be a valuable resource for the state in a time of crisis.
To our RI and MA communities, we will be hyper vigilant throughout the rest of this outbreak to ensure safe discharges home. We are prepared to accept increased capacity, work longer hours, and assist financially with any families who need their loved one’s home. It has been exceedingly difficult on our Oakley Home Access family to see how older adults and those with preexisting conditions have been affected, as these are the same people, we are so passionate to protect. For a home safety assessment, installation, or simply for discharge/transitional advice during this time please call our offices at 401-429-3882 in Rhode Island or 508-269-9227 in Massachusetts.
